Dear United Methodists of Upper New York,
On Wednesday, February 25, United Methodists from across the connection will gather in Washington, D.C., alongside ecumenical and interfaith leaders, for a day of public witness for immigration justice. The day will begin with worship at Capitol Hill UMC, followed by a prayerful march to the U.S. Capitol and opportunities for congregational visits. United Methodists of Upper New York are invited to take part in the Faithful Resistance in Washington, D.C. You can learn more about the event and register to participate by clicking here. In conjunction with the national gathering, the Upper New York Social Holiness Team and Immigration Taskforce are planning similar events across Upper New York. Churches interested in hosting or participating in a local event are invited to learn more at an informational meeting on Friday, February 13, at 9 a.m. via Zoom. The Social Holiness Team will provide resources to help congregations bear witness and stand in solidarity with our neighbors. Click here to join the Zoom meeting We hope you join us in learning more as we gather and share information. In Service of Christ, Rev. Alan Kinney Chair, UNY Social Holiness Team and Immigration Taskforce Comments are closed.
