Ministry Opportunities
There are a wide range of ministry opportunities available for members of our congregation to get more involved and share their gifts. If you find something of interest, please contact the church office to learn more.
Knit-n-Stitch
We meet every Monday morning from 10 – 12 except major holidays. We make and donate prayer shawls, lap robes and prayer squares to persons that are in need of prayers. We donate knitted and crocheted articles to places like St. Joseph's Hospital and Crouse Hospital, Project Linus, Meals on Wheels and AARP. We welcome new members, if you don't knit or crochet we can teach you.
Tuesday Morning Group
Every Tuesday a group of volunteers gather at 9am to assist the Trustees with maintenance of the church property. Projects vary from outside lawn work to inside minor repairs. The group shares a lot of camaraderie and occasionally shares a lunch together at a local restaurant. The door is always open to welcome anyone who would like to join in this fun and rewarding experience.

Tuesday Morning Bible Study
Every Tuesday morning a group of women gather to share in fellowship, prayer and study at 10:30 am. The studies have been reading and discussing a book together, which may be Biblical or topical relating to our faith life. We always welcome new members.
Music Ministry
The Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir is composed of a dedicated group of musicians that rehearse for just under an hour on Thursday evenings at 6:30pm and sing most 10:00am services from the first Sunday after Labor Day to the first Sunday in June. We always open with prayer as we may have identified someone we know that might have had a fall or needs our prayers. Our anthems are chosen for their texts first, then for their appropriateness in music i.e., not overly difficult or few high notes, etc. Two of the highlights of our year is to prepare a Christmas Cantata and an Easter Cantata that is usually accompanied by instrumentalists. We welcome all singing levels.
The Handbell Choir
The Handbell Choir is a dedicated group of ringers that have at least some experience playing handbells. They rehearse as needed and accompany hymns as well as providing special music. Thanks to the generous funding of two IUMC members, we plan to have the handbells completely refurbished during the Summer of 2022 so that once again, they will be like new. Dan Miller creates occasional unique arrangements for the Handbell Choir.
Instrumentalists
We have several talented instrumentalists that rehearse as needed and accompany hymns as well as provide special music. We also have vocal soloists and instrumentalists that offer their talents at the 8:30am service as well as the 10:00am service. Our youth are also encouraged to offer their vocal and instrumental talents in our worship services.

Bible Study
Our Pastor offers Bible study periodically during the year. Contact Pastor Jack if you would like to participate or have an idea for a study.
Nursing Home Worship
Once a month Pastor Jack leads worship with our friends and members at Camillus Ridge Terrace and Brookdale at Summerfield. Contact Pastor Jack if you would like to participate in this rewarding time of sharing God’s love.
Spiritual Direction
Spiritual direction is an opportunity to share your faith journey with a fellow believer trained to look for the presence of God in your daily living. This typically happens in an hour long meeting once a month with a spiritual director. A spiritual director is trained to be a compassionate listener and companion. Any topics are suitable for the conversation but often people seek spiritual direction if they want to deepen their relationship with God, deepen their prayer life or have a discernment to make. The conversation is confidential.
