Pastor Jack's welcome message to all"In 2022 I will celebrate my 25th anniversary of serving in the pastoral ministry. My first pastorate was in northern Onondaga County and after 25 years I have moved south... to south western Onondaga County! In 2018 I completed our United Methodist Course of Study program, a 20 course ministry training program that allows me to serve as a Licensed Local Pastor here in Camillus. My favorite scripture is one of our traditional Ash Wednesday texts, Psalm 51: 10-12: "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence and take not your holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit." This text is a part of my daily prayer life and helps me to remain focused on the need for all of us Christians to be renewed and restored by Christ on a daily basis. I think one of the best things about Immanuel is the congregation's emphasis on mission work. Whether it is supporting local missions, helping with disaster recovery efforts or traveling to other parts of God's kingdom, the people of Immanuel remain actively engaged in being God's hands and feet in the world. My hobbies and interests include bike riding, all sorts of music, and trying hard to spoil my grandkids! Our 5 grandchildren all live within an hour of our home and many weekends are spent swimming in the backyard pool or enjoying their events and activities!" Pastor Jack Keating |
