Pastor Jack's welcome message to all“In July of 2025, I began my 10th year of ministry here at Immanuel! (And to think they said it wouldn’t last!!!) In all, I have been in pastoral ministry now for over 28 years here in Onondaga County!
In 2018, I completed our United Methodist Course of study program, a 20 course ministry training program that allows me to serve as a Licensed Local Pastor here in Camillus. My favorite scripture is one of our traditional Ash Wednesday texts, Psalm 51: 10-12: "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence and take not your holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit." The text is an important part of my daily prayer life and helps me remain focused on the need for all of us Christians to be renewed and restored by Christ each and every day.. I believe one of the best things about Immanuel is this congregation's commitment to mission works. Whether it is supporting local missions, helping with disaster recovery efforts, or traveling to other parts of God's kingdom, the people of Immanuel remain actively engaged in being God's hands and feet in the world. In 2023, my wife Becky passed away after a fierce battle with cancer, and I have recently been blessed to find love once again! My hobbies and interests include painting (not walls... on a canvas!), all sorts of music, and trying hard to spoil my grandkids! My 8 grandchildren all live within an hour of my home, and many an afternoon is spent swimming in the pool or enjoying their events and activities! I hope to personally greet you in worship soon! And just ask to see pictures of the grandkids... I'll be glad to share them with you!" Pastor Jack Keating |
