Pastor Ben's welcome message to allFor the past 16 years, I have had the privilege of serving in ministry, helping people encounter God's grace and grow as disciples of Jesus Christ. I believe the Church is at its best when it welcomes honest questions, builds authentic community, and encourages people to love God with all their heart, soul, strength, and mind.
For the last 12 years, I have been profoundly blessed to be married to my wife Alyssa, and through our years together the Lord has gifted us with five wonderful furbabie; Annebelle, Trouble, Seraphina, Xena, and Beowulf. Outside the church, I'm a proud nerd. I enjoy tabletop games, fantasy stories, comics, mythology, and just about anything that sparks the imagination. I've found that stories have a unique way of helping us wrestle with life's biggest questions, and they often open the door to conversations about faith, hope, redemption, and the love of Christ. Whether I'm preaching on Sunday, leading a Bible study, playing a game, or sharing a cup of coffee, my hope is always the same: to help people know Jesus more deeply, discover the gifts God has placed within them, and join in God's work of transforming the world. Favorite Scipture: Ezekiel 37: 1-14 I adore this Scripture lesson for so many reasons. God asks the prophet Ezekiel in a dream he is having such an interesting question, "Can these dried up bones that have been gone for generations come to life"? Ezekiel responds with such faith (and maybe some confusion) "Lord, you know!" Then God gives Ezekiel a crazy sounding task to do, "Speak to these dried up bones and tell them to live". I am so thankful that God not only can take something that seems like a lost cause and we would be crazy to even work with it, and God brings life. Not only can God do these amazing things, God then chooses to work in and through even us. Thanks be to God who keeps choosing us in spite of us. Blessings and Peace, Pastor Benjamin Lalka |
