Spiritual direction is an opportunity to share your faith journey with a fellow believer trained to look for the presence of God in your daily living. This typically happens in an hour long meeting once a month with a spiritual director. A spiritual director is trained to be a compassionate listener and companion. Any topics are suitable for the conversation but often people seek spiritual direction if they want to deepen their relationship with God, deepen their prayer life or have a discernment to make. The conversation is confidential.
My training includes completing a 2 year spiritual director program through the Spiritual Renewal Center of Syracuse NY. I was also a Prayer Guide for The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius in the 19th Annotation given at the Spiritual Renewal Center for over 10 years. This has heavily influenced my own spirituality especially as it pertains to finding God in all things. I have a Master’s degree in Counseling and most recently completed a program making me a Certified Lay Minister in the United Methodist Church.
