Church & Community News & Events
Immanuel United Methodist Church has a lot going on. And, we are active in the community. Check back here to see the latest activities.
Cancer doesn't care. It doesn't care about age. It doesn't care about your family or friends. It doesn't care about what it takes from us -- or who it leaves behind. But I care. I care about making a difference in the future of cancer research and bringing an end to this devastating disease. That's why I am participating in the 2022 Ride for Roswell in our local ride on June 18th! Please help me raise critically needed funds to support the thousands of patients, just like Becky, who turn to Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center for hope each year. Your donation provides funding that researchers need in order to investigate new treatment options that could save lives in our community and around the world. For every dollar donated, Roswell Park can leverage an additional $13 in new grant funding! Sophia P., one of our church's teens, is participating on Becky's Blessing Team for the second year! Please consider donating to encourage her in her quest to help fund cancer research. Please make a donation today to help find cures. Together, we can make a difference. We will be collecting donations after worship on Sundays, May 22-July 12. Please make checks out to "Roswell Park Cancer Center" and put "Becky's Blessings" in the memo. Pastor Jack will be turning these in on June 25th!
Mother's Day Concert May 8th, 2022 at 2 pm St. Joseph's Church 5600 West Genesee Street Camillus, NY 13031 Featuring Bones East A 25 Member Trombone Ensemble Donations Accepted to be divided between St. Joseph's Food Pantry and Echo Meals on Wheels For Lent this year, our congregation committed to collecting non-perishable food items for the Camillus First UMC's brown bag lunch program. They provide free lunches to whoever may need one in the summer months in the village of Camillus.
We had a different item to collect each of the six weeks of Lent. Many thanks to all who participated in helping feed those in need in our community. We will begin a new Bible Study, An Invitation to the Old Testament, on Monday, April 25th. This study will run for nine Monday's at 1:00pm each afternoon. Each week's study will be about 90 minutes in length and this study does have a component based on some daily reading between sessions.
