We celebrated our youth on Sunday, June 9.  Our elementary young people listened to a message from Pastor Jack and were awarded with certificates for taking part in our Kidz Club program.  They were then dismissed to play games upstairs with Lorlie, our Faith Formation Director.

Later in the service, we heard a beautiful duet from Joey P. and our accompanist, Colin Keating.

For our meditation, we were able to hear from 3 of our graduates.  Alexa and Ben graduated from college and Joey is graduating from high school.  Joey was this year's recipient of the Gordon Williams Scholarship which Jerry Holbrook was able to present to him during the service.

On Sunday, October 29, Gary Merckel and Mike Block, members of Immanuel and also volunteer fire fighters, shared a fire safety message with our children and the congregation.

Fire Safety Escape Plan

Create an Escape Plan with your family. You may only have 2 minutes or less to escape a house fire once it starts.

According to the Red Cross, only 26% of families have a fire escape plan in place. Take time to make one - it can be a fun family activity!

Tips for Creating Your Escape Plan

• Always know 2 ways out of every room
• Practice 2 times per year
• Practice 2 times of the day - daytime and nighttime
• Know who will assist children and those with mobility/health issues
• Have escape ladders in upstairs rooms
• Get outside, stay outside: Remember, if the smoke or Carbon Monoxide alarm sounds, get outside and stay outside.
• Call 9-1-1: Make sure everyone in your house knows how to make the call
