Church & Community News & Events
Immanuel United Methodist Church has a lot going on. And, we are active in the community. Check back here to see the latest activities.
We celebrated our youth on Sunday, June 9. Our elementary young people listened to a message from Pastor Jack and were awarded with certificates for taking part in our Kidz Club program. They were then dismissed to play games upstairs with Lorlie, our Faith Formation Director.
Later in the service, we heard a beautiful duet from Joey P. and our accompanist, Colin Keating. For our meditation, we were able to hear from 3 of our graduates. Alexa and Ben graduated from college and Joey is graduating from high school. Joey was this year's recipient of the Gordon Williams Scholarship which Jerry Holbrook was able to present to him during the service. On Sunday, October 29, Gary Merckel and Mike Block, members of Immanuel and also volunteer fire fighters, shared a fire safety message with our children and the congregation. Fire Safety Escape Plan Create an Escape Plan with your family. You may only have 2 minutes or less to escape a house fire once it starts. According to the Red Cross, only 26% of families have a fire escape plan in place. Take time to make one - it can be a fun family activity! Tips for Creating Your Escape Plan

And, share it with others! The kids spent time making special Mother's Day gifts during Kidz Club this year. Check out the creativity!
We had a meal together, followed by a Bible story, crafts, music and games. Fun was had by all! Catch our Kidz Club program during our 10am worship service beginning September 12. (Click on images below to view full-size.) Week 2: Who doesn't love a campfire and s'mores? Week 3: Our Bible lesson was the Good Samaritan. We made blankets for The Linus Project which gives warm blankets to local kids in need. Week 4:
It was hot so we had fun cooling off! Our Bible lesson was Jesus healing the 10 lepers and we talked about being thankful to God for all of the great gifts God has given us. Our Kidz Club Wednesdays kicked off last night with a lot of fun by all! Please enjoy this video of the kids singing and playing handbells.
